Harvard supports the use of social media to share news and engage in conversations with a variety of audiences around the world. We encourage each school, department, program, office or individual employee to evaluate which, if any, social media platforms are appropriate for supporting their overall communication goals. If you manage a Harvard social media account, or you plan to create a social media presence, these guidelines will serve as a reference for how we represent Harvard entities online in an effective, consistent way.

Social media has constant changes in platforms, technologies, and communities. These guidelines will be a living document, continuing to evolve to reflect Harvard’s current needs and adjust to future changes in social media.
